I think the difference between twitter and Blackboard discussion is that twitter can be viewed by more people and spread more widely. In-class discussion and Blackboard discussions are visible only to your classmates and professors, and the topics are limited. You can post any topic on twitter, as well as other related hashtag titles so that followers can learn more about the topic. And anyone is able to follow you if the account is public. You can also hear comments from people of all ages and places, not limited to a single class.

We live in the age of the Internet, and I think social media is probably the best tool for creativity in this age. Social media allows you to access people who behave and think differently. Use it wisely to encourage people to get out of their field and actively focus on people with whom you disagree.
